Exceptional ACOFP student members and student chapters have been honored for their commitment to excellence and upholding osteopathic values.
ACOFP is proud of its exceptional student members and their commitment to excellence and upholding osteopathic values. We are happy to recognize our student chapter award winners and Auxiliary to the ACOFP student award winners for the 2021–22 academic year.
Awarded to the student chapter that has the highest percentage of student members. The student chapter is awarded $500.
Awarded to the student chapter that has the biggest increase in overall gold points from the previous year. The student chapter is awarded $500.
Awarded to the student chapter that has best communicated with all student members, faculty and staff. The chapter receiving this award will have the most gold points in the categories in which deadlines have been reached. This student chapter communicates not only with those students on campus, but also with those on clinical rotations. Submission of samples of monthly communication, flyers and announcements are required. The student chapter is awarded $1,000.
Awarded to the student chapter that has actively participated in humanitarian events within its school, community and beyond, acting as an advocate for osteopathic physicians. The award is given to the student chapter with the highest number of gold points in community service and other events, including fundraising for nonprofit groups. This could include community health fairs, blood drives, public health initiatives and fundraisers for nonprofit groups. The student chapter is awarded $500.
Awarded to the student chapter that best promotes the integration of osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) and the profession’s founder, A.T. Still, into family medicine. The promotion of OMM is determined by the highest number of gold points in OMM-specific events. The student chapter is awarded $1,000.
Awarded to the student chapter that best exemplifies the spirit and goals of the Student Association of the ACOFP, as determined by the highest total gold points. This award is presented to chapters that have best represented the opportunities and benefits of practicing as an osteopathic family physician, entering an osteopathic family medicine residency program and continued involvement in ACOFP. The student chapter is awarded $2,000.
The Marie Wiseman Outstanding Osteopathic Student of the Year Award—selected by the Auxiliary to the ACOFP—recognizes an osteopathic medical student who demonstrates strong philanthropic and community service. This annual award provides one osteopathic medical student with $5,000.

The Auxiliary to the ACOFP annually awards $2,500 to qualified emerging osteopathic student leaders in osteopathic family medicine and ACOFP, affirming the recipients’ interest in association leadership.
