ACOFP would like to congratulate its 2020 class of Fellows, Distinguished Fellows and Master Preceptors. In light of the in-person ACOFP ’20 convention cancellation, the Fellows ceremony was also cancelled. The following new 2020 members of the Conclave of Fellows will be honored in the 2021 Ceremony at the 58th Annual Convention and Scientific Seminars in Orlando, Florida.

Fellows

The Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (FACOFP) Award recognizes experience, dedication and contributions of the highest order to the advancement of osteopathic family medicine. The designation presented annually since 1976, awards nominees for their outstanding contributions in national, state and local service through teaching, authorship, research or professional leadership. The nominees’ applications are reviewed and approved by the Awards Committee and by a majority vote of the ACOFP Board of Governors.

Distinguished Fellows

The Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (FACOFP dist.) recognizes exceptional members of the Conclave of Fellows. The designation is presented annually to those Fellows who have exhibited exemplary service to ACOFP by attendance, as well as support of the governance and committee structures, locally and nationally. The candidates are reviewed and approved by the Executive Council of Conclave of Fellows and by a majority vote of the ACOFP Board of Governors.

Master Preceptors

This award recognizes preceptors for their sustained commitment to excellence in the training, education and mentoring of osteopathic medical students in osteopathic family medicine. Nominations are solicited from colleges of osteopathic medicine and other organizations, with the final selection made by the Preceptorship Committee, with the approval of the ACOFP Board of Governors. This year marks the third class of Master Preceptor Award recipients.
